Meet our donation box. This little box is wonderfully helpful in maintaining a simple lifestyle. It hangs out in our utility closet and collects items that I’ve decided to donate or am slightly on the fence about parting ways with.
Once the box is full, I poke through it to see if anything truly needs to be kept, then it’s off to a thrift store. I typically forget what I put in the box, so it’s rare that I’ll keep anything.
Our car was stuffed to the brim with things to donate in the initial stages of simplifying. Now, a little box in the closet to collect a handful of things to donate here and there is all that we need to help us journey on with simplicity. It also happens to be a lovely visual reminder of the conscious choice that’s required to make room for more purpose.
